Description

Lavender Cottage is a building that combines three cottages into one house, dating from the late 16th century and 18th century, with alterations made over time. The structure features part timber framing with brick infill, painted brick sections, and brick dentil eaves. The roof is covered with old tiles and has gabled and hipped dormer windows, along with a large chimney located on the ridge to the right of the center and flanking chimneys.

The entrance front showcases the 16th-century central portion, which is one and a half storeys tall and consists of three framed bays. The left bay has been altered to include a large composite 19th-century casement window with a fixed light, and there is a flat lead-roofed dormer above it. The other framed bays contain one and two-light casements, along with a 20th-century small pane half-glazed entrance door. To the left, there is an 18th-century brick extension with a two-light casement window with glazing bars on both the first and ground floors. To the right, there is a two-storey, two-bay 18th-century brick extension featuring a two-light 19th-century casement window on the first floor and a similar window on the ground floor, with a 20th-century small pane door situated between them.

Inside, the timber framing is exposed. Adjacent to the right is a forge that is listed separately.
