Description
The Unitarian Church in Shrewsbury was built between 1839 and 1840, with its facade added in 1885. The church is faced with ashlar and features a roof that is not visible. It has three bays divided by pilasters. The central entrance consists of double doors with a pediment, flanked by round-arched windows, and there is a round-arched window above. A deep cornice runs along the top, featuring a central pedimented cartouche that bears the inscription, "The Church founded 1662."
Inside, there is a lobby and vestry that were added to the front of the earlier chapel, which includes a northeast gallery with an early 18th-century panelled front. The interior also has dado panelling and a central pulpit located to the southwest.
