Description
12 and 13 High Street is a pair of shops dating from the early 18th century. The buildings are constructed of brick and feature a plain tiled roof. They rise three storeys high and include attic dormers. The facade has a six-window range, with late 20th-century shop fronts inserted on either side of a central door. The upper windows are two-pane sashes, each topped with steeply arched plastered stone heads that have stressed keystones and moulded sills. There are three dormer windows in the roof, each with segmental pedimented heads, and one dormer on the right has a triangular pediment. The eaves cornice is overhanging and has moulded wood modillions. Central lead rainwater goods and stone angle quoins add to the architectural detail.
