Description
The building consists of stables and a barn located approximately 10 metres to the south-west of Bicton Farmhouse. The barn dates from the 17th century, while the stable wing was added in the mid-to-late 19th century. It features a weatherboarded timber frame and coursed limestone rubble, topped with a plain tile and slate roof that is hipped at the rear of the barn. The structure is arranged in an L-shape, with a three-bay framed barn on the south-east side. It has one storey and a loft.
On the north-east front, there is a boarded loft door in the left-hand gable, along with three ground floor breather openings below. The stables are located to the right, featuring a central segmental-headed window, two segmental-headed boarded doors to the left, and segmental-headed double boarded doors to the right. The south-east front has four boarded doors. Inside, the roof is supported by two pairs of purlins.
