Description
This sundial, located approximately 9 meters south of the nave of the Church of St. Chad, dates from 1824 and is made of sandstone. It features a vase-shaped baluster with a plain moulded capping and plinth, all resting on a square base. The inscription around the capping reads "1824 (George Ore/Samuel Worthen) Church Wardens." Additionally, there is a brass plate with a gnomon that is also inscribed with the names of the churchwardens and "John Callcott Fecit."
