Description

This milestone, located approximately 260 metres south of Heblands Cottages in Bishop's Castle, dates from the mid- to late-19th century. It is made of white painted stone with a black base and black lettering. The milestone has a rounded top and is inscribed with the word "MILES" radially at the top, along with "B CASTLE 1" and "MT GOMERY 8". At the time of the last survey in June 1984, it was noted to be slightly damaged but is still considered part of a complete series of milestones.
