Description

The Malt House is a house dating from the late 17th century, which was refaced and had its eaves raised in the early 19th century. It features a roughcast timber frame, partly rebuilt in limestone rubble, and has a slate roof. The building has three storeys and includes a semi-integral brick end stack on the right and an external brick end stack on the left. The framing consists of square panels that are concealed. The front has two windows, which are glazing bar sashes with flush and recessed boxes. There is a central door with six raised and fielded panels, surrounded by a pilastered frame and topped with a bracketed open triangular pedimented hood. Inside, there is a square-panelled timber framed partition wall.
