Description
Werneth House is a house located on Welsh Street in Bishop's Castle, dating from the 17th century with remodelling that occurred in the mid- to late-19th century. The building is roughcast, likely built on a timber frame or coursed limestone rubble, and features a slate roof. It has an L-plan shape with a gabled wing that projects to the right and consists of two storeys.
At the junction of the two ranges, there is a large stone ridge stack. The first floor has a margin-light sash window, while the ground floor features a tripartite sash window to the right and a six flush-panelled door to the left. This door is sheltered by a mid- to late-19th century porch, which is supported by octagonal columns and has a frieze and cornice. The right-hand return front includes a first floor margin-light sash, a ground floor canted bay, and a half-glazed door to the left.
In front of the house, there is a late-19th century cast iron railed enclosure.
