Description

This milestone, located on the north side of the B4368 in Hopesay parish, is made of limestone and stands approximately 0.75 metres high. It features a ledged rounded head and a stepped base, which are painted white with black lettering. The top of the milestone is inscribed radially with the word "MILES," while the shaft displays the distances to Bishops Castle (10 miles), Clun (6¾ miles), and C'Arms (2 miles). The milestone remains in its original position and is part of a series, making it significant for its group value and intact condition.
