Description

Aston Hall is a house, dating to circa 1830, originally built as a single residence but later divided into flats. It is located on the north side of Clun Road in Aston-on-Clun, Shropshire. The building is constructed of roughcast brick or rubble stone, with a low-pitched hipped slate roof concealed by a moulded eaves parapet. Rendered ridges and integral lateral stacks are also present. The house has five bays by five bays, with three gables visible from the rear and a recessed central section. It features three storeys, accentuated by continuous stone cill bands, moulded at the second floor level, and a moulded eaves cornice. There are five windows, all with glazing-bar sashes, and some dummy sashes are incorporated into the returns. The central entrance is defined by a stone Greek Doric porch, featuring two pairs of fluted columns and a moulded entablature with triglyphs and metopes. A recessed six-panel door, with upper panels now glazed, is contained within the porch, having panelled reveals and a rectangular barred overlight.
