Description
The Old Court House is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the late 18th century and has undergone later additions and alterations. The building is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble and features a slate roof. It stands two storeys high with an attic and includes a cellar. The front has three windows, with tripartite glazing bar sashes; the outer lights are fixed-light cast-iron windows, while the centre window on the first floor is a 16-paned sash. There is a steep-pitched central pediment with a lunette above the entrance. The entrance is centrally located and has a late 20th-century glazed porch with contemporary glazed double doors. At the rear, there is a full-length three-storey addition that has coped verges, a parapet, and a dentilled eaves cornice. The interior has been considerably altered in the late 20th century, but several rooms still retain original moulded plaster cornices.
