House, now clubhouse. Late C18/early C19. Brick; hipped Welsh slate roof; 3 rendered brick stacks, to rear and left side. 2 storeys and cellar; 3-window range: central canted bay with C20 lights with upper casements; flanked by 6/6 sashes under segmental arches. Late C19 verandah to ground floor with composite tile roof. Steps to bowling green. Left returned side roughcast, with 2 stack-bases. INTERIOR: C19 winder steps, to 1st floor skittle alley with panelled dado. Late C18/early C19, 6-panel doors; C19 fire surround. Cellar: stone-lined; chamfered ceiling beams; C18 brick vault. HISTORY: The adjoining bowling green is reputed to be the second oldest in England, dating from 1484; the first reference is in 1697.
