Description
Number 23 Widemarsh Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the late 18th century and features a stucco exterior with a corrugated-asbestos gable roof. The building has three storeys and a cellar, with a single-window range that includes 6/6 sash windows. There is a storey band and another 6/6 sash window with a moulded cornice. The shop front, which is from the 20th century, has a door on the right and a storey band above it.
Inside, the structure retains much of its 17th-century timber framing, showcasing extensive chamfered and moulded ceiling beams on the first and second floors. The timber-framed walls are filled with hair plaster panels, and the original oak floorboards remain intact.
