Description
41 Widemarsh Street is a late 18th-century house that has been converted into offices. It is constructed of brick with a slate roof and stands three stories tall with a cellar. The building features a two-window range, including 6/6 sash windows and 3/3 sash windows, all with gauged brick flat arches above them. The parapet is topped with moulded stone coping. The entrance is located to the right and consists of a six-fielded-panel door set in a moulded case under a fanlight, framed by a gauged brick round-headed arch. There are two 6/6 sash windows with wrought-iron guards, and all windows have stone sills.
Inside, the building boasts a dogleg staircase with stick balusters leading to the third floor. On the second floor, there is one original two-panel door. The first floor features 18th-century panelling, including a dado and arched alcoves at the front, along with a cornice, a plastered post, and two wall cupboards at the rear. The ground floor has 20th-century oak panelling in the hall and at the front, with 18th-century panels below the windows. There is also a six-panel door leading to the cellar, which is said to be medieval.
