Description
No. 53 Widemarsh Street is a house that has been converted into shops and flats, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick and features a slate roof with a brick end stack on the left side. The building stands three storeys high and has a five-window range. The windows are late 19th-century, 2/2 sashes set in moulded cases, and are topped with gauged brick segmental arches that have fluted key-stones. There is a storey band and similar window arrangements on each floor, along with a parapet that has coping. The ground floor has 20th-century shop fronts, with an entrance to the flats located to the right. At the rear, there are three hipped gables covered with plain tiles.
