Description

5 and 7 Widemarsch Street are an early 17th-century shop and dwelling, with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries, and a late 15th/early 16th-century basement. The building has a timber-frame construction with a stuccoed infill and a Welsh slate roof. It is two storeys high with a three-window front. The windows are 19th-century sashes, with margin lights, the central right window being a triple window. A 20th-century shop front features central glazed double doors.

Inside, you’ll find moulded beams, moulded plaster decoration, and panelling. The basement, which is partly located under number 3 Widemarsch Street, contains fine stonework with a pointed-arch vault, carved bosses and a stone fireplace with a flat stone arch.
