Description
Lloyds Bank is a bank building constructed in 1927 by Waller and Son of Gloucester, designed in a classical style. The structure is made of ashlar and features a parapeted roof. It stands three storeys tall with an attic. The facade is elegantly detailed, featuring four attached Ionic columns that rise through the first and second floors, flanked by Doric pilasters that frame the bays on either side. These elements support an entablature and a balustraded parapet at the top.
The ground floor includes a plinth, similar pilasters, and an entablature, with a total of seven windows. The central section has five metal-framed French windows with cast-iron balconies and cornice hoods above. There are wider and lower windows above these, with smaller similar windows on either side on both floors. The flat-topped attic storey is set back behind the balustrade. The ground floor features five windows in the centre with aprons, and doorways on either side, each with cornice hoods, the left doorway supported by console brackets. The interior is reported to retain a banking hall with pilasters and a decorative ceiling.
