Description
Moss Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It features a timber-framed structure with plastered infill and a sandstone rubble plinth. The building has an external stack, which is now capped, and later additions, topped with a tiled roof. The house consists of two framed bays aligned north to south, facing west. The original stack is located to the south and is now capped, while a later stack to the north is partly enclosed by a single-storey rubble addition. Moss Cottage has two storeys, with the upper jettied storey supported by a moulded bressummer featuring curved brackets and shafts to the wall-posts below. There are two 2-light 20th-century casement windows and 3-light 20th-century glazing bar casement windows flanking a central 20th-century porch with a ledged door. The interior has not been inspected.
