Description
Lower Castle is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It features a timber-framed structure with 20th-century infill, a brick plinth, and a sandstone end stack, topped by a slate roof. The house has two framed bays that are aligned east to west and face north, with later additions at the rear and to the west. It is two storeys tall and has two 2-light casement windows centrally located on the upper floor. On the ground floor, there are two similar windows flanking a 20th-century ledged door, which is accompanied by a small side light.
