Description
This is a barn with a gateway located at the north end of Westhide Court, dating from the 18th century. It is timber-framed, featuring wattle-and-daub infill and woven panels set on a high rubble plinth, topped with a tiled roof. The barn consists of four bays arranged in an east/west direction. A notable feature is the attractive carriage cover, or open bay, at the east end, which includes diagonal struts supporting the posts. The framing is constructed of heavy scantling, with two square panels stacked on the tall plinth. The plinth extends as cross-walls that frame the carriageway, while the east gable end is weatherboarded.
