Description
Brook Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It has a timber-framed structure that features a combination of painted brick infill and wattle-and-daub, along with a sandstone plinth and stack, and a brick chimney shaft. The roof is tiled. The house consists of three framed bays that are aligned north to south and face east. There is a central entrance and an additional entrance located in the south gable end. At the rear, there is a lean-to and a 20th-century extension, with a stack on the south gable end. The building is two storeys high and has three windows, which are primarily 2-light metal casements. One of the windows is a similar 2-light, while another is a 3-light window that flanks a part-glazed door. The framing is fairly complete, featuring irregular three and four square panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with weatherings in the gable.
