Description
The Woverns is a house dating from the 17th century, which has been altered and extended in the 20th century. It is timber-framed with wattle-and-daub infill, a sandstone plinth, and a slate roof, with later additions that are rendered. The house consists of two framed bays aligned east to west and facing south, with additional structures extending to the west and south at the west end. The entrance is now located in a later addition, and there is a stack at the east gable end. The building is single storey with an attic and features two gabled dormers that have 2-light glazing bar casement windows. On the ground floor, there are three windows, including two similar 2-light casements and one single light, with the entrance to the left in the 20th-century addition. The framing appears fairly complete, with three square panels from the sill to the wall-plate and angle bracing from the main post to the wall-plate.
