Description
No. 19 School Lane is a cottage that has been converted into a shop and dwelling. It features a front that dates from the mid-18th century, likely built around a core from the 17th century, with later alterations. The building is constructed of brick and has a steep-pitched plain tile roof. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has a two-window range. The windows are 19th-century 6/6 sashes set in moulded cases beneath segmental arches, and there are boarded eaves. There is a frame-post, possibly, on the right side of the building.
The late 19th or early 20th-century shop front includes a half-glazed panelled door with an overlight to the right, while the left side features a four-panel door with a blocked overlight for the dwelling. The shop front has a fascia board and hood supported by pilasters. The left side of the building has a gable that is slate-hung, while the right side is weatherboarded and includes a 20th-century casement window in the gable. At the rear, there is a brick wing topped with a Welsh slate roof and a brick end stack. The interior has not been inspected.
