Description
No. 22 Etnam Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and dwelling. It features a late 18th-century front that conceals an earlier core. The building is constructed of brick and has a Welsh slate roof, with a brick cross-axial stack at the rear. It stands three storeys tall and includes a cellar, with a three-window range. The windows are 6/6 sashes with cambered heads, set under painted gauged brick segmental arches, alongside 3/3 sashes with similar arches. The stone tile coped parapet has a central pediment.
The entrance is located to the right, consisting of steps leading up to a six-fielded-panel door with a barred overlight that has a cambered head, all sheltered by a moulded wood open-pediment hood supported by fluted pilasters. To the right of the entrance is a plank door set under a semicircular arch, and to the left are two mid-19th-century plain sashes, also under painted gauged brick segmental arches. The left side of the building is roughcast. It is said to have a 17th-century wing at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
