Description
Nos. 20 and 20A on Etnam Street are late 18th century to early 19th century houses, now used as dwellings. They are constructed of brick with a slate roof and have brick end stacks, as well as a stack at the rear. The buildings rise three storeys and include a cellar, featuring a three-window range with 6/6 sash windows in moulded flush frames, set beneath gauged brick flat arches. There are also 3/3 sash windows under gauged brick flat arches, and a moulded stone cornice and parapet adorn the top.
The central entrance is accessed by steps leading to a six-fielded-panel door, which is topped by an ornamental fanlight within a round-headed panelled case. This is further enhanced by a moulded and modillioned open-pediment hood, which includes entablature blocks with triglyphs supported by attached columns. The entrance is flanked by 6/6 sash windows under gauged brick flat arches. To the left of the entrance, there is a round-headed plank door set beneath a semicircular gauged brick arch. The building also features a stucco plinth with cellar lights. The interior has not been inspected.
