Description
The buildings at 3 and 5 School Lane in Leominster comprise shops and dwellings, dating back to the 17th century, with alterations in the 18th century and later. Number 3 is a two-story building featuring a single window range. It has a roughcast exterior and a plain tile roof with two rooflines. The window is a 20th-century nine-over-nine sliding sash. A 20th-century shop front with a central half-glazed door and an earlier overlight with square glazing bars sits between the windows. Number 5 is a three-story building with a single window range, also with a roughcast exterior and plain tile roof and two rooflines. The upper window is a 20th-century plain sliding sash within an earlier moulded case, while the lower window is a 4/4 sliding sash. The ground floor features a 20th-century shop front with a half-glazed door to the left and a window with chamfered glazing bars. A 20th-century plank door provides access to the rear. A simple hood covers the shop front. The interior of both properties display chamfered ceiling beams and timber framing, dating back to the 17th and later periods.
