Description
16A and 17 Corn Square are shops and dwellings dating from the 15th century, likely raised in the 17th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The buildings feature a timber-frame and plaster construction, topped with a plain tile roof that has twin gables facing the street. They stand two storeys high with an attic and have a two-window range. On the left, there is a cross-window with leaded lights, a moulded head, and a sill. Next to it is a 20th-century four-light mullion and transom window, also with leaded lights. The buildings have a shallow moulded jetty with chevron-braced panels above, and two mullion windows with leaded lights in the gables. The barge-boards are carved and feature pendant finials. There are two 20th-century shop fronts. The interiors have not been inspected.
