Description
No. 18 High Street is a cottage that has been converted into a shop. It has origins from the 18th century or earlier and was raised in the 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The building features roughly-coursed ironstone rubble up to the top of the openings, with squared ironstone above and brick arches over the openings. There is also some brick patching and a brick gable to the left. The roof is made of pantiles. The structure is a single storey with an attic and has two windows on the front. To the left, there is a part-glazed door, along with three and two light sliding sash windows that have glazing bars. The openings are topped with segmental brick arches. There are two raking dormers, with a 12-pane sliding sash window to the right and a 20th-century casement window to the left. The left gable features tumbled brickwork, and there are end stacks. The building is included partly for its group value.
