Description

This is a house, likely dating to the 18th century, or with origins before that time, and significantly altered in 1818 with later 20th-century modifications. It is constructed of red brick, with a rear section of coursed ironstone rubble and brick dressings; the roof is tiled with pantiles. The house presents a symmetrical three-bay facade with a central entrance and a single-bay extension to the left. The front door has a boldly carved and painted lion’s head and a datestone above. The windows are flush-sash windows with glazing bars. All ground-floor window and door openings are set within segmental arches. A section on the left has been rebuilt in the 20th century, replacing a former shop window with two matching windows. Above the entrance is a blind window panel. A dentilled eaves cornice runs along the top of the front elevation. The roof is hipped and has two axial stacks.
