Description
No. 19 Main Street is an estate cottage built in the early 19th century, with a later extension and a 20th-century porch. It was constructed for the Normanby Estate and features coursed ironstone rubble with brick dressings and stacks, topped with concrete pantile roofs. The cottage is a single storey with an attic and has a low single-storey extension to the left.
The main cottage has three windows, while the extension has one. The building includes quoins and a plain door with an arched trellis porch. To the right of the door are two 12-pane sliding sash windows, and to the left is one more, all set in brick surrounds with segmental arches. The extension features a 20th-century casement window. A dentilled brick eaves cornice runs along the roofline, and there are axial and end stacks. The attic has sliding sash windows in both gables. This building is included partly for its group value.
