Description
No. 20 Bell Lane is a cottage dating from the early 18th century, with 20th-century additions. It is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble and features a tile roof, along with brick stacks at the ends and on the ridge. The cottage has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a two-window range. To the right of the centre, there is a four-panel door set in a trellis-work gabled porch. On the left side, there are two 3-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, each with timber lintels. A single-storey extension to the right of the door has been raised to full height in the 20th century. Inside, the cottage features stop-chamfered beams and an open fireplace with a stop-chamfered bressumer.
