Description
No. 5 Bell Lane is a cottage dated 1681, constructed from coursed ironstone rubble with a pantile roof and brick ridge stacks. It features a three-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with a three-window range. The main front faces the garden and includes a plank door with a gabled hood positioned to the left of centre. To the left of the door is a two-light casement window, and to the right, there is a three-light casement window, along with a small stone-framed one-light window in the centre. There is another plank door to the right of centre and a three-light casement window at the far right. On the first floor, a three-light casement window is located to the left. All windows have timber lintels, and there are two dormer windows on the right side. The left gable end displays a small square datestone inscribed "TS/1681," framed by scrolls and adorned with flowers at the corners. The back wall facing the street shows blocked windows and various one-light windows, with a stone-coped gable at the left end.
