Description
No. 8 Banbury Lane is a cottage dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble and features an artificial stone tile roof, along with brick stacks at the ends and ridge. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a two-window range. The gable end faces the street and includes a three-light casement window on the ground floor and a similar two-light window on the first floor, both with timber lintels. In the attic, there is a two-light mullioned window with a hood mould. The entrance is located on the left side, featuring a 20th-century plank door positioned to the right of centre, along with various 20th-century one and two-light casement windows, also with timber lintels. The street-facing end has quoins and a stone-coped gable with kneelers. The cottage is included for its group value.
