Description

Manor House, dating from the early 18th century, is constructed of ironstone ashlar with a slate roof and stone end and ridge stacks. It has a three-unit plan and two storeys with an attic, displaying a five-window front. The central entrance features a six-panel door within a bolection-moulded stone frame topped with a broken segmental pediment containing a cherub's head. The windows are mullion and transom style, with moulded stone sills and surrounds. Storey bands mark the first and attic floor levels. Other details include a chamfered plinth, quoins, stone coped gables with kneelers, and a single-storey 19th-century kitchen extension to the rear. The interior contains a fine early 18th-century staircase with fat turned balusters; its original position is uncertain. A large moulded stone fireplace is present in the hall.
