Description

Butterwell Farmhouse is an early 18th-century house, later altered in the 20th century. It is located on the north side of Byfield Boddington Road. The house is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with a thatched roof, and has brick end and ridge stacks. It originally comprised three rooms laid out in a row. The house is two storeys high with an attic, and has a four-window front. A 20th-century gabled porch with a glazed door is situated to the left of centre. The ground floor has three casement windows with painted stone lintels and keyblocks; the sills of the two outer windows have been lowered. The first floor has three casement windows with timber lintels. Quoins are present. The kitchen contains stop-chamfered spine beams and stop-chamfered rafters.
