Description
Home Farmhouse is a house, formerly a farmhouse, dated 1714, with later alterations from the 18th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone and features a wood shingle roof, along with blue brick ridge and end stacks. The building has a 4-unit plan with a central staircase, standing two storeys tall with an attic and a four-window range.
The central entrance consists of a plank door framed by a moulded wood surround and topped with a straight stone hood supported by timber brackets. To the right, there is a 20th-century canted bay window, and a three-light casement window to the far right, which has a stone lintel and keyblock. On the first floor, there are two similar windows to the right of the centre, with a datestone inscribed IR/1714/SR positioned between them. Left of centre, there are three-light casement windows with timber lintels. Additionally, there is a semi-circular tiled projection that contains a bread oven between the left ground floor windows, and a two-light casement window on the far left of the ground floor.
Inside, the farmhouse features stop-chamfered spine beams, stop-chamfered rafters, and two open fireplaces with chamfered bressumers, one of which includes a bread oven.
