Description
No. 10 Main Street is an estate cottage built in the early to mid-19th century for the Normanby Estate. The building is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble with brick dressings and stacks, topped with a concrete pantile roof. It is a single-storey structure with an attic and features three windows. The cottage has quoins and a plank door located to the left of the centre, with one 12-pane sliding sash window to the left and two to the right. All openings are framed with brick surrounds and have segmental arches. A dentilled brick eaves cornice runs along the top, and there are axial and end stacks. The attic contains sliding sash windows in both gables. The cottage is included partly for its group value with other nearby structures.
