Description
No 16 on Main Street is an estate cottage built in 1805, as indicated by the datestone above the door. The cottage features coursed ironstone rubble with brick dressings and a stack, topped with a concrete pantile roof. It has a two-cell baffle-entry plan and is a single storey with an attic, containing two windows. The building has quoins, with those on the left being from the 20th century. The central door is part-glazed, and the windows are 20th-century casements. All openings are framed with brick surrounds and segmental arches. There is a 19th-century sloping dormer to the right and a 20th-century gabled dormer to the left, both fitted with casements. The cottage adjoins No 18 on the right and is included partly for its group value.
