Description
This is a barn located about 30 yards north of The Vauld Farmhouse, likely built in the late 17th century to 18th century. It features a timber frame with weatherboards and corrugated iron, topped with a pantiled roof. The barn has three bays oriented from north-west to south-east, with a cow shelter extending towards the south-west from the west side, which is not included in this description.
On the south-west elevation, there are full-height opposed ledged doors in the middle bay, and a mid-19th century weatherboarded extension to the right. The frame consists of three panels high to the wall-plate. Inside, there are raking struts from the ties supported by central plank posts leading to the centre trusses. This barn, along with the nearby barn and cow shelter, plays an important role in complementing the setting of The Vauld Farmhouse.
