Description

This barn, located 40 meters northeast of Vale Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century. It has five bays, with a lower three-bay section to the left. The structure is timber-framed and covered with weatherboarding, topped by a pantiled roof. There are various 20th-century boarded doors, and the central bay of the main barn once featured large doors. The barn retains complete late 17th-century framing, characterized by full-height studding and long primary braces. It also has a clasped purlin roof. The left section was likely added later and served as a stable or cow-house. This barn is included for its group value with the nearby farmhouse.
