Description

Hascot Hill Farmhouse is a mid-17th century farmhouse situated in Battisford. Originally built with a two-cell lobby-entrance plan, it was extended to the left in the early 19th century. The house is timber-framed and plastered, with a plaintiled roof. The roof features 19th century axial and gable chimneys constructed of red brick, along with a gabled 20th century casement dormer. Most windows are small-pane sashes from the early 19th century, with one small-pane casement window. There are two 19th century entrance doors, each with a flat canopy supported by brackets and featuring five panels, the top panel glazed. The timber framing is plain, and the first-floor joists are exposed, fitted on their edge. The house includes back-to-back lintelled fireplaces. The roof structure is a windbraced, clasped purlin design.
