Description
The Nook is a cottage that likely dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill and a shingle roof, along with a local stone end stack that has a detached brick chimney at the south end. The building consists of two bays aligned north to south and has one and a half storeys.
On the east elevation, the ground floor includes a three-light late 19th-century casement window on the left and a two-light early 20th-century window on the right. There is a small late 19th-century casement window to the right of the first floor, and a beaded central door from around 1900. To the right, there is a mid-20th-century lean-to extension covered in weatherboards. The cottage was formerly known as Pikestye Cottage.
