Description
Little Vauld is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th or 18th century but was re-fronted in the late 19th century. It features a timber-frame structure with brick re-fronting on the south side, and has pantile and slate roofs. The building has a local type extended rendered stone end stack on the west side. It is roughly T-shaped, with the head facing south, and consists of two storeys and three windows.
The architectural interest is primarily in the two front arms, which each have two bays. The north arm has one storey and an attic, with the west elevation showing an opening in timber panels to the right of the center and a ledged door at the junction with the other arm. This arm also features two late 20th century gabled dormers that are symmetrically placed. There are three panels from the cill to the wall-plate.
The south arm has two storeys and includes a 2-light late 19th century casement window to the right of the junction with the north arm on the ground floor. Originally, this arm had four panels high, but it is now partly underbuilt in brick. Additionally, there are low late 19th century single-storey brick extensions to the west.
