Description

Ash Grove is a farmhouse, likely originating in the 17th century, but significantly remodelled and extended in the early 19th century. It comprises two overlapping parallel ranges, aligned roughly north-east/south-west, with a rendered pavilion block to the front of a brick range. The roof is slate-covered. The north-west elevation has three windows, with end chimneys. It features early 19th-century glazing bar sash windows and contemporary French casements on the ground floor. A central early 19th-century six-panelled door has fluted architraves and a tansom light. An early 20th-century hipped roof lean-to verandah extends from the front. The south-east elevation of the rear range contains 19th-century casements. A ledged door is located to the left, and a panelled late 19th-century door is on the right. The interior is said to contain timber framing.
