Description

ORCOP CP - SO 42 NE 6/46 Barn approximately 20 m west of Old Hall Farmhouse

Barn. Probably C15 with minor later alterations. Timber-framed on sandstone rubble plinth with partial weatherboard cladding and asbestos roof. Three- bay barn of four largely complete and substantial cruck trusses. Trusses complete to ridge-piece with spurs and collars, though one collar is missing, to north of centre. Wall-framing survives only in posts, sills and wall-plates; subsidiary framing fragmentary. Irregular square panelled wall-framing with infill missing. The barn is a compact yet impressive example of its type and date. Old Hall Farmhouse is not included in this list.
