Description
This is a barn located approximately 20 meters west of Old Hall Farmhouse, likely dating from the 15th century with some minor later alterations. It is timber-framed and sits on a sandstone rubble plinth, featuring partial weatherboard cladding and an asbestos roof. The barn consists of three bays and has four substantial cruck trusses that extend to the ridge-piece, complete with spurs and collars, although one collar is missing on the north side of the center. The wall-framing is primarily made up of posts, sills, and wall-plates, with subsidiary framing being fragmentary. The irregular square panelled wall-framing has some infill missing. This barn is a compact yet impressive example of its type and date. Please note that Old Hall Farmhouse is not included in this listing.
