Description
Rhydicar is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 17th century but was remodeled and extended in the early 19th century. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and features an asbestos slate roof, with external end stacks that have detached brick shafts and a third brick ridge stack at the point of extension. The building has a rectangular plan that is roughly aligned east to west, with a part-circular bread oven projecting against the eastern stack. It has a cellar and two storeys.
On the south elevation, there are four windows with casements that have two, three, and four lancet lights, all set under low segmental heads with hood moulds. The main entrance, located to the left of the center in the symmetrical part of the elevation, features a glazed early 20th-century door beneath a contemporary gabled porch that has a hood mould matching those above the windows. The right, extended part of the elevation has a more detached arrangement of fenestration, including a low entrance door and a three-light casement without lancets, both grouped under an interrupted hood mould. Above this, there is a three-light lancet casement on the first floor.
