Description

The Post Office is a house that dates largely from the early 19th century, although it likely has earlier origins. It is constructed from sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings, featuring a dentilled brick eaves cornice and a Welsh slate roof. The building has three storeys and is topped with projecting sandstone rubble end stacks that have brick shafts.

The façade includes three windows, with the ground and first storey windows set under segmental heads. The ground floor has early 19th-century small-paned iron casements, while the first floor features two tripartite sashes flanking an obscured diminished centre opening. The second floor has 2-light mid-20th-century casements. There is a central entry that is accessed through a mid-20th-century gabled brick porch. This building stands out in the centre of the village of St Weonards due to its prominent position and relative height.
