Description

The Pye Monument, located immediately south of the south-east nave window of the Church of St Weonard, is a chest tomb dedicated to John Pye, who died in 1829. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features a plain base with moulded and hipped capping. The monument has a fluted frieze and gadrooned corner balusters. There are oval inscription panels on the sides, each adorned with a fan motif at the corners.
