Description
This is a barn located about 70 meters southeast of Hall Farm House, dating from the early 17th century, with a 19th-century extension. The barn has a timber frame and is covered with weatherboarding, topped by a steeply pitched pantiled roof. It consists of five bays, and there is a 19th-century midstrey with double doors that faces away from the house. There are lean-to additions on either side, with the left side being open-fronted. Windows are present in the gable ends, and to the left, there is a lower added bay that features some rendering.
Inside, the barn has close studding with a midrail and reverse curved bracing in the walling at the ends. The posts are jowled with knees replacing the arched braces to the cambered tie beams. The roof structure includes double butt purlins, cranked windbraces to the upper purlins, and collars to the principal rafters.
