Description
The Willows and Lilac Cottage is a pair of dwellings dating from the early 18th century, with extensions added in the 19th century. The buildings feature a timber frame, which has been extended with clay lump and plastered. They have a thatched roof, with pantiles used on the later additions. The structures consist of two broad cells with a central stack and are one storey high with an attic.
The entrances are located at the outer ends and have boarded doors. The windows are two-light glazing bar casements with hoodboards, and there are three dormers on the roof, two of which have gabled heads, while one features an eyebrow thatch. The axial ridge stack has been rebuilt. To the left, there is a 19th-century two-storey bay with two-light casements and an external end stack in a lean-to outshut. At the rear, there is a lean-to outshut addition and a 20th-century flat-roofed addition.
Inside, The Willows has a frame of small scantling, which is largely concealed, while Lilac Cottage has not been inspected.
